Traditional Fruit Carving in Bangkok
Description: With steady hands and sharp focus, Ms.Wanwisa Noosigha (also known as Noo Dang) patiently transforms simple fruit and vegetables into detailed works of art as guests of Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok watch in awe. Noo Dang is just 23 years old but has mastered Kae Sa Lak or Thai fruit and vegetable carving (often shortened to Thai fruit carving) over the last 10 years.

Though the life-like displays seem too beautiful to consume, her intent is actually to make food more appetizing and easier to eat it did need to be seeded and cut, after all. Carvings are done as a show of respect and to welcome guests with a treasured art that represents the beauty of Thailand.
